A Big Bear New Year’s Eve

Snow Summit’s Torchlight Parade

Big Bear Lake offers some of the best New Year’s Eve entertainment in the Inland Empire. Treat yourself to the only torch light parade in Southern California.

At 7:00 PM. Snow Summit will temporarily interrupt their night session. Hundreds of employees and their families will chairlift to the top, where everyone will receive a red torch. As the snowboarders and skiers make their way down Miracle Mile, a glowing red snake can be seen all across the Valley.

If you want to watch the parade from the base of Snow Summit, dress warm and get there early. We enjoy heading over to the Alpine Pedal Path on the North Shore (corner of Starvation Flats and the North Shore). This trail extends three and a half miles to the Solar Observatory, most of it has a clear view of Snow Summit.

Snow Summit Events

Except for the break for the parade, the night session will begin at 3:00 PM and run until 9:30 PM. The evenings are cold and conditions are great. Snow Summit’s base is two to three feet deep and their terrain is 99% open.

Snow Summit will host a DJ party with a no-host bar. The cost is $10. The party will go from 9:30 PM until 12:30 PM. The party is limited to adults over the age of 21.
