Big Bear CA – Utility Providers

The utility services available to Big Bear homeowners vary depending on the location of the property. For instance, some areas in Big Bear have mail delivery and trash pick-up while other areas require you to pick up your mail at the local post office and haul out your trash to a disposal area or the local dump.

The following is a list of Big Bear utility companies with a brief description of their services:

Big Bear City Community Services District – (909) 585-2565 – 139 East Big Bear Blvd. (PO Box 558) Big Bear City, CA The CSD consists of overlapping fire, water, sewer, solid waste (trash collection) and street lighting service for the un-incorporated areas of Big Bear Valley.

Bear Valley Electric Service – (800) 808-2837 – 42020 Garstin Dr. • P.O. Box 1547 • Big Bear Lake, CA 92315 provide electric power to approximately 23,000 customers in the community, including: City of Big Bear Lake, Big Bear City, Fawnskin, Erwin Lake, Moonridge, Sugarloaf, Lake Williams, and Baldwin Lake.

Big Bear Transfer Station – Dump Site – 38550 Holcomb Valley Road, Big Bear City, CA Hours of operation: 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Solid waste in Big Bear Lake neighborhoods is handled by the City of Big Bear Lake’s Public Works Waste Management Division. Big Bear Disposal, partner to the city, handles trash pick-up, manages the trash drop off (Clean Bear) sites, and also facilitates hazardous waste disposal and recycling. The Big Bear City Community Services District’s (CSD) service area covers communities outside the City of Big Bear Lake. There are two “Clean Bear Sites” where vacation rental tenants and weekenders must take their trash. #1 – 41970 Garstin Drive and #2 – 39690 Big Bear Blvd. (across from City Hall).

Charter Communications – Cable – (866) 499-8080 – 41490 Big Bear Blvd., Big Bear Lake, CA – Charter Communications is the primary provider of cable television within the City of Big Bear Lake and the surrounding Big Bear Valley.

City of Big Bear Lake – 909-866-5050 – 41972 Garstin Drive (PO Box 1929) – Water, sewer, and trash services. The Department of Water (DWP) provides domestic water service and fire flows to approximately 14,000 residential and commercial customers including the entire City of Big Bear Lake, Moonridge, Sugarloaf, the northern half of Erwin Lake, Lake Williams, Fawnskin, portions of Whispering Forest, and Rim Forest (near Lake Arrowhead).
