The Big Bear Valley has had several storms visit leaving a base of one to two feet on the slopes. The daytime temperatures will range from the mid-30’s to the mid-40’s. Conditions are cold enough to maintain machine groomed packed powder runs at the Resorts.
Other types of snow play on the mountain include inner tubing at the Alpine Slide west of the Village or Big Bear Snow Play across from the Convention Center.
If you’re looking for less demanding excitement during the holidays, head into Big Bear Lake’s Village, where you’ll find shopping, dining and entertainment. Free parking is available at the Visitor Center on Bartlett.Head over to Pine Knot, here’s a list of places not to be missed;

Do you enjoy Native American jewelry? Black Fox Trading Company has an extensive collection of turquoise jewelry, video, music and crafts supplies. The Village is also home to fine jewelry. Wing Jewelers has high quality diamond and gold jewelry, along with pristine colored stones.
Dining
The Sweet Basil Bistro offers fine quality Italian and American cuisine. The selection is extensive and authentic.The experience is not to be missed.
We like to head over to the CopperQ for the best coffee in the Village.We always check out their wall full of kitchen gadgets. The CopperQ offers weekly cooking classes.
Entertainment
The Village has two sets of movie theaters offering the latest selection in movies. Check out the horse drawn carriage rides through the Village. They are located on the corner of Pine Knot & Village Drive. Action Zipline Tours has opened a Segway Office, providing unique Village tours. The Arts Council has a gallery in the Village, and theres an award winning photography Gallery of the American Landscape.
This time of year brings us memories of hot chocolate and snowmen. Our alpine valley has a timeless quality, especially when it snow. Spent the afternoon or the rest of your life!
