Big Bear real estate is comprised of many unique neighborhoods and Boulder Bay is one of the most iconic places in the Big Bear Valley. Boulder Bay is located on the south-west shore of Big Bear Lake and is one of the first neighborhoods you encounter as you enter Big Bear Valley from the west. One of Big Bear’s most popular hiking paths, Castle Rock trail, originates from the area. “China Island” a privately owned vacation home located on its own boulder island, is an area landmark. The recently completed Boulder Bay park overlooks the small bay and rock formations that give the area its name.

Many homes on the south side of the highway are nestled among the boulders and back to the San Bernardino National Forest.
