Moonridge is located in central Big Bear Valley, up against the southern mountains, and is surrounded on three sides by National Forest. Bear Mountain Ski Resort, Moonridge Animal Park, and Bear Mountain Golf Course are the big attractions in this part of the valley.
Driving Range, Golf Course
Homes come in all sizes from small cabins and chalets to spacious mansions. The mostly steep terrain provides for excellent views of the local canyons and surrounding mountains. Bear Mountain, although not quite as crowded as Snow Summit, is popular with the snowboard crowd and is known for its terrain park and half-pipe. The Bear Mountain Golf Course is a fun little 9-hole links-style course with a driving range, pro shop, and restaurant. Thanks to the high altitude, golf balls carry further here than at sea level courses.
Bear Mountain
You’ll find an abundance of wildlife in the Moonridge area, from rare black bears and mountain lions to more common raccoons, squirrels, chipmunks, coyotes, hawks and many types of small mountain birds. Moonridge receives a little more precipitation than other parts of the valley as evidenced by the lush vegetation and abundance of trees.
Other Moonridge neighborhoods include Lower Moonridge, Upper Moonridge, and High Timber Ranch.
