Big Bear Home Sales - Year to Date (1/1/2011 thru 6/30/2011) The Big Bear real estate market has slipped even further when compared to 2010, with home sales down 11% - 354 total sold in 2011 vs. 399 total sold in 2010 thru June. Big Bear Foreclosure Numbers – October 2010

Foreclosure filings for Big Bear dropped in October 2010, down 17% when compared to September, a sizable chunk which continues the zig-zag movement of the Big Bear foreclosure market over the past year. Big Bear Foreclosure Numbers – September 2009

Bank repossessions in Big Bear were up 9% in September though the overall foreclosure filings dropped significantly. The foreclosure filings in September 2009 (180) were down 18% from August 2009 (219).  Year over year, however, filings were up 122% from the September 2008 (81) numbers. Big Bear Foreclosure Numbers – August 2009

Foreclosure numbers in Big Bear slowed a bit in August though they still remain near record highs. The foreclosure filings in August 2009 (219) were down 10% from July 2009 (244), but were still up 27% from August 2008 (173). If the foreclosure market has anything to say about how long this down market will last, don't expect things to get better anytime soon. Foreclosure filings in Big Bear were up 20% in May 2009 compared to April 2009. Big Bear Foreclosure Numbers – April 2009

The foreclosure filings  for Big Bear (notices of default, notices of trustee sale, and properties that went back to the bank) in April 2009 were down 5% as compared to March 2009.  But, they were up 20% when compared to April 2008, or year over year. There were a total of 92 properties in the Big Bear area that received a notice of default in April, which is down 14% from the all-time high we saw in March 2009. March 2009 – Foreclosure Numbers For The Big Bear Real Estate Market

Notices of Default (NOD) in Big Bear eclipsed the 100 mark for the first time in history during March 2009. Up 13% from the previous high of 95 NODs in February 2009, the new record set in March was 107 NODs.  This means more and more properties in the Big Bear area going into default, a majority of which will most likely be bank owned in 6-12 months.
